New Reggae Band: Manples Warriors to play at Fest Napuan

By Mark “Remedy” Taiki: Many youth in Vanuatu face difficulties regarding education, crime and unemployment. Some respond through self-pity and complaints of injustice, others respond through the use of reggae music, and innovation. A newly formed reggae group called the “Manples Warriors” have been proactive in their marketing methods. Led by the IT-SCOPE co-founder Stanley Wai, the Warriors recently entered the music scene with their single “Natural Beauty” featuring “Ghost” from the reggae band “Ruff House”.  The song has been downloaded numerous times on sound cloud and received positive responses from face book followers.
It has a soulful reggae melody, complimented with a variety of male and female vocalists. Their manager Stanley recently showed me some of their unreleased material including music videos and reggae riddims. Formed only three months ago, this reggae band should be on everyone’s watch list. Their name Warriors refers to their vigilante approach to always remain on the right path despite their many difficulties. The band consists of ten members including several reggae producers and writers. Influenced by artists such as Damian Marley, Capleton, and Jah Mason the quality of sound that these boys make is to an international standard. The band will be making an appearance at this year’s Fest’Napuan Festival (16th to the 20th of October). Mark your calendars and come witness this band’s performance at this amazing event.
