Friday 04th April 2014 media release:  Despite the warm welcome by the members of the public and the local business houses, Miss Vanuatu Committee feels it is too soon to organize the Miss Vanuatu competition again this year. This will enable all of our partners to recover from the current slight slowdown of our economy. For this reason the Miss Vanuatu Committee recently took the decision to put a hold on the national beauty contest.
Based on the committee’s decision, the reigning Miss Vanuatu, Ms. Valerie Martinez, will continue to maintain the title until the next competition. This will allow Miss Vanuatu greater opportunities and experience to fulfill her role as the face of Vanuatu for Tourism” says the Chair Lady, Mrs. Linda Kalpoi.  This week Miss Vanuatu, Valerie Martinez welcomed 350 international delegates for the PITA 18th AGM, and is getting ready to accompany the Vanuatu Tourism Office team to New-Zealand for the South Pacific Tourism Exchange in May. Her role is to invite visitors to ‘Discover what Matters’ in Vanuatu. The Miss Vanuatu Committee encourages young and talented ni-Vanuatu women to actively take part in the upcoming municipal and provincial beauty pageants. The winning candidates will automatically be registered for the next Miss Vanuatu competition. The Miss Vanuatu Committee would like to thank its sponsors, the Government and the members of the public for their continuous support. For further information please contact Mr. Sebastien Bador, email
