VTO joins Industries and Trade stakeholders meeting this week

Director Jimmy B Rantes gives his remarks at the conference.
On Friday 11 April, the VTO was invited to attend an important meeting at the Department of Trade, Industries and Commerce. The initiative was taken by the marketing division of the Department in developing marketing strategies as a guiding road map for 2014 - 2016, in promoting value-addition of Vanuatu produced products, linking raw material producers with manufacturing industries, and to facilitate market access for high niche products being produced and manufactured as Vanuatu made products.
The presentations highlighted great potential through the tourism industry to tap into potential buyers of Vanuatu products which led to an outcome stating that the Vanuatu Tourism Office will be assisting with online and web presence for high value Vanuatu products from "Oils of Paradise", Tanna Coffee, Vanuatu Vanilla to local handicrafts and artifacts of sellers in the markets. These products prior to be added to the VTO website under shopping, will be Government certified through the Department of Industries, as well as be a registered associate member of its tourism association. Vanuatu Tourism Office would like to thank the Trade and Industry Department for the invitation and looks forward to working together in promoting products of Vanuatu to overseas tourist markets.
