David Cockroft (owner of Moyyan House) has financed people from the Natawa River area on Espiritu Santo to provide a river tour and prawn farm. The tour is a very easy downstream float, and is assisted by Luke Tokar, owner/manager of Paradise Tours. The 1/2 day tour runs on Monday, Thursday, and Friday at 6,000vt per person. Luke transports guests from their hotel to Nattawa, off the East Coast Road, leading them to a traditional rural village. Joining the river guides there, guests then drift downstream in kayaks over crystal clear water passing through watercress, taro gardens, and by waterfalls set amid the pristine jungle. The tour will also include a visit to a freshwater prawn farm before river fish feeding, swimming and refreshments at the downstream pick up point. The more adventurous guests have the option to take a further onward drift and return paddle back to the pickup point. Leaving the river guides after the tour, guests then journey back to the East Coast road through stands of giant bamboo, cocoa and coconut farms. VTO congratulates Mr Cockroft and the Natawa community, for a great initiative and looks forward to working together and continuously promoting the tour. For more information or to book, call Luke on +678 7747159.

By Alcina Charlie, VTO: Before dropping in at the what used to be called Olympic Hotel but has now been re-branded to Business Class Hotel, we dropped by at the City Motel. We were met by the motel's manager, Ms Joie Wibur Malas who gave us a brief history about the motel before she showed us the only room available. City Motel started operating in 2006, and is owned by a chinese local resident Mr Mok, whom Joie has been working for for 9 years. City Motel has a bright and spacious lobby reception on the first floor, and is centrally located in Port Vila.

Yesterday (10th July 2014), VTO staffers and student trainees, went to inspect the renovated and recently opened (3 weeks ago) Business Class Hotel which used to be called the Olympic Hotel. The hotel is ideally situated in town, in the same building as the Beef House and Island Time Cafe & Takeaway, in Port Vila. The staff were met by Mr Terry, the hotel Manager, and he showed them 4 rooms. The newly painted walls and tiled rooms gave the room's interior an interesting look and feel which has somewhat a metropolitan theme.

This is what the beautiful french couple who call themselves "Groovy Banana", Gaga and Benoit, created together and shared on youtube in June. Groovy Banana were in Holland for more than 5 years, where both their creative synergy took off. They then decided to return to Vanuatu where Gaga's parents used to teach, and after more than 3 months on the road, discovering, meeting, swing dancing, sharing along their way, they finally arrived in Port-Vila, and have recently played, sung, and filmed on Tanna island and other locations in Vanuatu. Stay tuned for more updates coming soon. The Vanuatu Tourism Office thanks Gaga and Benoit in promoting Vanuatu with their fun and amazing videos and photos.
