This week Vanuatu Tourism is singing "The sun is shining the weather is sweet..." as Tok Tok Vanuatu swings with positive vibes and to top it all off a perfect weather for the event is like cream on the cake! A total of 103 sellers are currently finishing setting up their booths in the Tok Tok village at Holiday Inn's beautiful private island, and 59 plus buyers are being escorted by VTO's General Manager Mrs Linda Kalpoi and office reps. They are doing pre-tok tok tour experiencing, discovering, and enjoying all that matters in the outer islands of Tanna, Espiritu Santo, and Malekula.
The delegation will return to Vila this afternoon before getting ready for Tok Tok's official opening, to be officiated by the Deputy Prime Minister and same time Minister of Tourism, Honorable Ham Lini Vanuaroroa, tomorrow morning (Thursday 28th August). Immediately after the opening, the business portion and meetings between sellers and buyers will commence and run throughout the whole day. Tok Tok this year has re-introduced its one to one business booth structured meetings to ensure buyers have quality time to engage and dialogue with local business partners. Meetings will continue on Friday and end with site inspections, followed by the grand finale Tok Tok "Celebrate Vanuatu Cultures" gala dinner hosted at Iririki Island Resort's Michener's Restaurant. This year's event has had a good turn out after last year's postponement. The total number of delegates have increased from year 2012 to 171 participants, with buyers and media primarily from Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia , North America, Europe, and China. Travel writers will cover the event and share their stories in print and online media stretching across all four corners of the globe.
