Air Vanuatu News Updates - Toll Free Phone Bookings & Suspended codeshare with Solomon Airlines

Media release 26th September - Air Vanuatu introduces toll free phone bookings: As part of Air Vanuatu’s continuing effort to improve service, the airline has introduced a toll free telephone number for sales and reservations. The new toll free number, 139, is available to anyone calling within Vanuatu and will be answered from 0730-1800 Monday to Friday and 0800-1400 on weekends. “Passengers calling from within Vanuatu will not be charged by their carriers for these calls, which we hope will make things a lot easier for our customers, particularly those in the outer islands,” Chief Executive Officer Joseph Laloyer said. Air Vanuatu has also successfully implemented online check-in via their website at which allows passengers to reduce their queue time when flying overseas and to some domestic ports.
“Air Vanuatu is the only full service airline flying to Vanuatu from Australia and New Zealand with highly competitive fares and no hidden extras. We enjoy receiving feedback from our frequent flyers and this feedback has and always will prompt service upgrades, so we thank our passengers for that.”

Air Vanuatu’s codeshare service with Solomon Airlines has been suspended: Services between Honiara to Fiji via Port Vila have been disrupted in the last 12 months due to an ongoing dispute between the governments of Fiji and Solomon Islands. “We have assisted Solomon Airlines where possible to ferry their stranded passengers to and from Fiji, and we will continue to work with Solomon Airlines with the aim of offering a stable regional service to our customers,” Chief Executive Officer Joseph Laloyer said.
