Entries Open October 27 for the Vanuatu Tourism Awards for Excellence 2014
The new Vanuatu Tourism Awards for Excellence 2014 will launch on Monday 27 October, 2014, with operators from across the country encouraged to apply. Operators are invited to submit their entries into a variety of 12 categories, designed to align each award with all areas of the tour and accommodation industry.
Accommodation and tour operators can attend a workshop explaining the submission and judging process either on October 29 or November 19, 2014 in Port Vila. Interested operators please email firstname.lastname@example.org to register your participation in the workshop.
An entry guide and forms will be available on the industry section of Vanuatu Tourism office’s website http://vanuatu.travel from October 27, 2014. The accommodation categories include island bungalow, mid-range accommodation, boutique accommodation, hotel/resort accommodation, and luxury accommodation. The tour categories include cultural/eco tour, adventure activity, ocean experience, and scenic tour. Individual awards include front of house, back of house and tour guide.
The objective of the 2014 Vanuatu Tourism Awards for Excellence is to improve standards and professionalism, whilst encouraging the continual development of the tourism sector.
By recognizing excellence and celebrating the success of operators who are delivering an outstanding service to tourists, the Awards aim to encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing within the industry to help build the Vanuatu brand and enhance the visitor experience. The ultimate goal of the Awards is to attract more tourists to create greater economic opportunity in Vanuatu and build a sustainable future for the industry.
The Awards program is led by the Vanuatu Awards for Excellence Committee, which includes the Vanuatu Hotels and Resorts Association, the Vanuatu Tour Operators Association, Vanuatu Chefs and Food Handlers Association, TVET for Tourism, Australian Pacific Technical College, the Tourism Ambassador program, the Department of Tourism, under the secretariat of the Vanuatu Tourism Office. IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is supporting the committee in delivering the Awards program in 2014 and 2015.
