Port Vila, Vanuatu, 15th October 2014: It is exciting news that the Head Chef of Village de Santo Resort is travelling to compete in the Origin Culinary Arts & Hospitality Show. Charlie Lengtehi of Pentecost will represent the Northern Islands in this year’s Salon Culinaire. He is excited about the prospect of participating in his first ever competition and hopes to led the way for his colleagues in future competitions.
The 34 year old, recently married is travelling to Port Vila with the support of Village de Santo his current employer. He has a lot of experience in the industry having previously worked at some old favorites like the Rossi Restaurant, Le Meridian, El Gecko, Maritime College and Paradise Cove.
“The Vanuatu Chefs and Food Handlers Association are thrilled that the Northern Islands have a representative, and in the very near future we hope that we can encourage more competitors and participants from our neigbouring provinces” said Isaac Boyle, President of VCFHA. “Our aim is to support the development of NiVanautu Chefs and showcase their skills, so having a Santo competitor is exciting as we celebrate the 10th year of the Association” he continued.
