Media release: Salon Culinaire 2014 is over and Chantilly’s On The Bay, is pleased to welcome James Fogarty to the team as Food and Beverage Manager. The name sounds familiar?? James snuck back in just before Vanuatu’s premier hospitality event and is now settled in. James comes with a unique background and skillset having been born on Efate, schooled at Escole Francaise, Port Vila and finishing with boarding school at King’s College, Auckland, NZ.
Joining Trinity Group in New Zealand in 2009, where he held management positions in leading establishments including St Johns Heineken Hotel (Best Bar NZ), Temperance and Concrete Bar’s in Wellington.
Jimmy to his mates (James to their mothers) returns to Efate where he started his life and after extensive travel and hospitality experience around the world now brings this to Chantilly’s On The Bay. Jimmy has been building up his extensive background in the hospitality industry for the past decade and sharpened his skills in Australia, Europe and most recently in New Zealand. In Australia at the winner of the Best Cocktail Bar in Australia 2007, De Non, the doyen of inner Sydney pub culture, Balmain’s Exchange Hotel and YU on the glitz and glamour strip of King Cross. His European experience took in managing The Peligoni Clubr in Zakynthos, Greece exposing him to another amazing culture and lifestyle.
With his expertise and fresh insights in the hospitality industry, Jimmy will ensure Chantilly’s On The Bay and Tilly’s Restaurant continues to provide guests with the best culinary experiences and service in Port Vila and to drive F&B innovation and creativity. Apart from his native language Bislama, Jimmy is fluent in English and French (though he claims his French is a bit rusty).
